Off the Shelf: Taming the Shopping Bug by Marti McGinnis

Happy Friday!

I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe. The only bright side to this social distancing business is that it is giving us lots of extra reading time!

In a myriad of self-help and minimalist books, Taming the Shopping Bug is a shining gem! Not at all condescending or preachy, the author approaches a year of #noshopping with humor! From confessing an addition to boots (same here...), to discussing the trials of no shopping, the discovery of loopholes, and the benefits of a minimalist lifestyle, Marti is a likable and relatable storyteller. I love the graphic novel set-up, I wish more self-help books were available in this format. The quirky drawings and hilarious captions kept me giggling my way through the book.

Bonus: It is available through Amazon's Kindle Unlimited! If you haven't tried Kindle Unlimited yet, click here to get your first month free!
